Fall Clean Up 2026
The City of Clarksburg will once again sponsor its Annual Residential Only Fall Clean-Up, giving Clarksburg residents an opportunity to dispose of large and bulky household items that are too big for normal garbage pickup.
Items That Will Be Accepted
Items accepted during Fall Clean-Up include stoves, washers, dryers, hot water tanks, electronic equipment such as televisions, microwaves and computers, and other normal household items.
Refrigerators, air conditioners and freezers must be properly tagged showing that all Freon has been professionally removed. Without proof of Freon removal, these items will not be picked up.
Items That Will Not Be Accepted
The following items will not be accepted:
- Normal household garbage
- Demolition or construction materials
- Cardboard
- Broken glass, unless it is boxed or contained so no one can get cut
- Vehicle parts
- Batteries
- Tires
- Liquids such as paint, sealer and similar materials
There is a limit of one small truckload per residence.
AutoZone, located at 106 W. Main Street, will accept used motor oil. Nicholson Auto, Inc., located at 168 Peck Street, receives old vehicle parts and all appliances.
Preparing Items for Collection
To take advantage of this free service, Clarksburg residents should place eligible items at the curb or in the alley by 7:00 a.m. on their designated collection day. If possible, residents are encouraged to place items out the evening before their scheduled day.
Small items must be boxed, bagged or tied. Nothing loose will be taken. All containers must be disposable and of a size and weight that one person can lift into a dump truck bed.
No materials from contractor jobs will be included in this free service. Items that are not properly prepared will not be taken.
Yard Waste
Yard waste is not included in Fall Clean-Up. Yard waste will be picked up separately by the City’s Compost Department truck on its designated collection day.
Important Pickup Information
Pickups are not scheduled, and your Fall Clean-Up pickup day is not guaranteed to be the same as your regular trash collection day.
Trucks will not go back. Residents should make sure all eligible items are properly prepared and placed out on time.
