Downtown Business Grant Application 2026
Qualifications
To qualify for the Supplemental Downtown Construction Impact Business Grant, a business must:

Operate within the Downtown construction impact area;

Be an independently operated personal service business (such as licensed cosmetologists, hairstylists, estheticians, nail technicians, or similar providers);

Have operated for at least 90 days between March 1 and December 31, 2025;

Hold a current City of Clarksburg business license and any required State of West Virginia professional license;
-
Have annual gross revenue of less than $600,000 for calendar year 2025; and
-
Not have received a direct grant from the City under the prior Downtown Construction Impact Grant Resolution.
Exclusions
The following businesses are not eligible:

Professional service firms, including legal, accounting, engineering, and architectural practices;

Corporate chains, franchises, and regionally or nationally managed operations; and
-
Businesses that previously received a direct grant from the City under the prior grant resolution.
Application Process
Applicants must submit a completed application form along with all required supporting documentation, including business and professional license information, proof of operating history, and revenue attestation. Applications must be received by the City Manager's Office no later than July 20, 2026, unless the deadline is extended. Applications may be submitted in person at 222 W. Main Street, Clarksburg, WV 26301 or by email to constructiongrant@cityofclarksburgwv.com. All applications will be reviewed for eligibility and completeness before approval.
