Job Title: Theater Attendant

The City of Clarksburg is seeking applicants for the position of part-time Theater Attendant(s). This position is responsible for guest service in concession areas and temporary banquet locations at RGPAC, by ensuring theater attendees receive prompt attention, are served prompt and accurate orders, and that all concession and banquet spaces are kept clean, orderly, and well-stocked. A thorough knowledge of the services available at all RGPAC events and adhering to a strict set of standards and procedures provided by RGPAC are necessary. The Theater Attendant may also be required to provide support by serving as a Box Office Attendant, Usher, Greeter, or by assisting technical staff or with cleaning up after an event.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

· Ensures guest satisfaction by prompt, accurate, and friendly service while maintaining a calm, helpful demeanor during periods of high volume.

· Makes decisions and solves problems with a goal towards 100% guest satisfaction.

· Monitors inventory and works with management to identify any current or upcoming challenges that may negatively affect the guest experience.

· Assist technical staff as needed.

· Adheres to RGPAC standard policies and procedures regarding safe and effective handling of facilities and equipment, handling of food, and maintenance thereof to ensure the safety of all employees and guests. Comply with the City of Clarksburg Employee Handbook.

· Maintains a working knowledge of software and equipment necessary for financial transactions. Training will be provided. Maintains the confidentiality of all records, reports, and correspondence.

· Performs RGPAC standard policies and procedures for responsible and accurate cash handling and financial transactions.

· Resolves discrepancies involving order accuracy, item availability, and payment issues quickly and effectively, reaching out to management when further assistance is needed.

· Knowledge of the food and beverage offerings being served at the RGPAC, including special items relevant to specific events.

· Provides accurate open schedule availability looking up to (2) weeks out and reliably fulfills scheduled obligations at the RGPAC.

· Performs related work and duties as needed or assigned.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must possess a high school or equivalent education, must be at least 18 years of age, and must be a U.S. citizen. Possess experience of at least 1+ year(s) in food and beverage service. 2+ years in a Customer Service role can substitute for food and beverage service. Should understand best practices in safe food and beverage handling. Must pass a professionally administered background check.

· Ability to form sound opinions or make decisions by evaluating available information.

· Ability to maintain composure and stay organized throughout stressful situations.

· Skills to meet high demands during breaks and intermissions while working concessions.

· Promotes an image of professional, courteous service as a representative of the City of Clarksburg.


Physical Standards Required to Perform Essential Job Duties:

The position requires the employee to frequently stand, talk, or hear; use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk and climb stairs. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate and can be noisy.

Job Title: Seasonal Summer Worker (PW)

Location: Various within city limits

Reports to: Superintendent of Public Works

Department: Public Works

Wage: $12.00/hour

The City of Clarksburg is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Seasonal Summer Worker in the Public Works Department. This is a temporary part-time position, working from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., to perform a variety of duties as needed, assisting with beautification within the city limits of Clarksburg. Temporary employees are not eligible for any benefits except those that are legally mandated, such as workers’ compensation.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be at least 16 years old and have transportation to and from work daily. Experience cutting grass is preferred.


Tools and Equipment:

  • Manual push mower.
  • Weed eater.
  • Leaf blower.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, or operate objects and tools, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Work is mainly performed outside, and employees are regularly exposed to traffic and varying weather elements. The Noise levels in the work environment are unusually moderate to loud.
