City Clerk Responsibilities
During a City election, the City Clerk administers all election issues.

The municipal election in 2024 will be different than in previous years because Clarksburg is joining its elections with the county to take advantage of greater voter turnout and help reduce the cost of elections for both the city and the county.
The next Clarksburg City Council & Clarksburg Water Board Election is May 14, 2024.

Jan 08 - Jan 27- Filing period for candidates for election of office of Clarksburg City Council & Clarksburg Water BoardFeb. 13 - Last day to withdraw and not have name appear on the ballotFeb 20 - Drawing for ballot positions (9:00 AM County Courthouse Annex)Mar. 29 - May 8 - Period for absentee voting by mailApr 23 - Voter registration deadline (Voter Registration Office located in Harrison County Courthouse)May 01 - May 11 - Period for Early Voting in person (at Courthouse Annex and TBD satellite locations) - Tuesday, May 14 - Election Day (Polls open at 6:30 p.m. and Close at 7:30 p.m.)

- Precinct 14 - Kelly Miller Community Center - 408 EB Saunders Way, Clarksburg
- Precinct 28 - Salvation Army Activity Center
- Precinct 33 - Duff Street Methodist Church - 400 Duff Ave, Clarksburg
- *Precinct 36A - Harrison County Rec. Complex - 43 Recreation Dr, Clarksburg
- *Precinct 66B - Summit Park VFD - 429 Simpson St, Clarksburg
- Precinct 68 - Knights of Columbus - 334 E Pike St, Clarksburg
- Precinct 74 - United Methodist Temple - 665 Locust Ave, Clarksburg
- Precinct 80 - St. James School Gym - 2107 Pride Ave, Clarksburg
*(Even though these polling precincts are located outside of the city limits of Clarksburg, Clarksburg city voters will go to these precincts to vote.)

Early Voting (May 1-11)
There will be no early voting at Clarksburg City Hall. Early voting will be held by the county:
- On the 3rd floor of the new County Courthouse Annex at 229 South 3rd Street, Clarksburg.
- Outside of Boscov's at the Meadowbrook Mall next to NTB Tire & old Stone & Thomas home store.
Early voting runs from May 1 – 11, 8 am-4 pm and on the two Saturdays before Election Day (May 4th and May 11th) from 9 am to 5 pm.
