The Clarksburg Police Department is a nationally-accredited, full-service agency employing 45 sworn police officers and five civilians. The department is responsible for the protection of life and property, enforcement of the law, preserving peace, and the prevention of crime.
Chief of Police, Mark Kiddy is responsible for the overall management and daily operations of the Department.
The Detective Division consists of six detectives and an administrative specialist.
Clarksburg Police Department fingerprints for those persons requesting them for employment or other purposes.
The Clarksburg Police Department Honor Guard was formed to provide ceremonial assistance in a variety of situations.
This is a brand-new, first-of-its-kind outreach program within the City of Clarksburg, embedded directly in the Clarksburg Police Department. Outreach Liaison Devan McCord is employed full time by the City of Clarksburg and fully designated to work alongside CPD officers.
Police Officers are the first to respond to a wide variety of calls for law enforcement assistance.
The Clarksburg Police Departments Records Division is responsible for maintaining the safety and integrity of the department’s records involving its activities.
Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) consists of eleven highly motivated officers, who are extensively trained in special weapons and tactics.
A tip line is provided for citizens to report areas of concern.
The City of Clarksburg has a new bicycle registration program to ensure bicycles lost or stolen in the city are more easily recovered and returned. While registration is required, the program is free to all participants.
